Meet The Author Monday – Becky Wade

monday

Happy Monday!

Each Monday I would like to take some time to get to know some of our favorite authors. My hope is that this will help readers connect with the authors.

Today I would like to introduce you to: Becky Wade!

Becky writes some excellent romance novels! She also has some of the best covers for her books! If you aren’t already, you should follow her on Instagram! She has been posting about her adorable dogs and her daughter often takes over and reviews her book covers.

Author bio:

Becky’s a California native who attended Baylor University, met and married a Texan, and settled in Dallas.  She published historical romances for the general market before putting her career on hold for several years to care for her three children.  When God called her back to writing, Becky knew He meant for her to turn her attention to Christian fiction.  She loves writing funny, modern, and inspirational contemporary romance!  She’s the Christy and Carol award winning author of My Stubborn Heart, the Porter Family series, and the Bradford Sisters Romance series.

To help us get to know her, I have given her some questions and here are her responses:

Q: How long have you been writing?

A: I started writing in 1994 then stopped in 2000, when my first baby was born.  Then resumed in 2008.  Then took a year off when my final baby was born.  When I add all of that up, I’ve been writing for seventeen years!

Q: What are you currently working on?

A: I’m rewriting on Let It Be Me, the second book in my Misty River Romance series.  The hero, Sebastian, is a pediatric heart surgeon and the heroine is a math genius.  I’m having a ball writing their story!

Q: What are some of your writing must haves? (Drink, snack, supplies, etc.)

A: I love to have the following nearby: hot tea, my snoring writer dog, a window, a second chair to prop my feet on, sugar free chocolate, a good pen, my desk calendar, my phone, Paleo crackers.

Q: What is your favorite time period to write about? Or read about?

A: I love writing contemporary-set love stories! Modern day characters suit my writer’s voice and my sense of humor best.  However, I adore reading both contemporary and historically set novels.  My favorite historical time period and setting: Regency England.

Q: If you could spend a day with one fictional character, who would you pick and what would you do?

A: My family and I recently re-watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, so I’m still under the spell of Harrison Ford’s appeal.  I’ll spend the day with Indiana Jones in an extremely remote place uncovering archeological treasures and secrets.

I have saved my favorite question for last!

Q: What would you like readers to take away from your books?

A: Hope, enjoyment, encouragement.  It’s always been my prayer that the Lord would minister to each reader through each story.  If close the final page of one of my novels with a full heart, my goal has been met.

About the book:

Loving her is a risk he can’t afford . . . and can’t resist.

When acclaimed Bible study author Genevieve Woodward receives an anonymous letter referencing her parents’ past, she returns to her hometown in the Blue Ridge Mountains to chase down her family’s secret. However, it’s Genevieve’s own secret that catches up to her when Sam Turner, owner of a historic farm, uncovers the source of shame she’s worked so hard to hide.

Sam has embraced his sorrow, his isolation, and his identity as an outsider. He’s spent years carving out both career success and peace of mind. The last thing he wants is to rent the cottage on his property to a woman whose struggles stir his worst failure back to life. Yet can he bear to turn her away right when she needs him most?

Thank you Becky for your time! Please leave some love in the comments!
